Raymond Lee Boyd, a man of contrasting warmth and sternness, left this world on February 15, 2025, at the age of 70. Born on June 7, 1954, Raymond was a steadfast presence, a gentle but firm guide through life's many challenges. Known for his love of life, he found joy both in the little things—a favorite hat perched proudly atop his head—and the thrill of a lucky gamble at the casino, spinning the slots with hope and anticipation.
Raymond's personality embodied a unique blend of sweetness veiled behind sternness; he was a giver, fiercely protective of those he loved. His heart was especially bound to children, showering his daughters, Latasha Jones and Shandralia Boyd, with affection and wisdom. A loving husband to Linda Johnson Boyd, he traversed life's ups and downs with her by his side, navigating the passage of time with the comfort that only a partnership can bring.
He was also survived by nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, relishing the moments that filled his heart with joy. He also shared bonds with two sisters and a brother, each connection woven into the fabric of his existence, strengthening the legacies of love he imparted.
As we gather to honor his memory, the viewing will take place on February 28, 2025, at Golden Gate Funeral Home in Dallas from 12:00 PM until 7:00 PM, allowing friends and family a chance to reflect on the life of this remarkable man. The celebration of Raymond's life will continue the next day, March 1, 2025, with a funeral service at Dixon Circle Missionary Baptist Church, commencing at 11:00 AM.
Raymond will continue to smile with us, forever remembered for that radiant new smile of his that brought delight to all who crossed his path. In our hearts, he remains a guiding star, illuminating our lives with steadfast love and an indomitable spirit.
