Raymond Codrington Obituary
Raymond "Ray" Codrington, 86, of 1848 Cascade Street, Fayetteville, passed away on Sunday, May 28, 2023.
Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday, June 06, 2023 at 12 noon at Herring Funeral Care & Cremations Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Cumberland Memorial Gardens Mausoleum in Fayetteville.
Ray was the son of the late Dr. Conrad B. and Edna Davis Codrington and was a nationally known musician and bandleader, who played with numerous soul legends, including Little Richard, Gladys Knight, and Jackie Wilson.
He is survived by his wife, Joyce Codrington of the home and a son, Reggie Codrington of Fayetteville.
A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Monday, June 05, 2023 from 5-7pm.

Ray would let me sit in as a kid to play while he was at "The Groove." Many lessons learned besides music. A great person. I'm glad our paths crossed. Thank you Ray. You will be missed.
