Mr. Raymond Everett Corey, age 61, and a resident of Columbia, passed away on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Williamson Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, May 19, 2025 at 3:00PM at Heritage Funeral Home with James Woods officiating. A visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home on Monday, May 19, 2025, from 1:00PM - 3:00PM. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 11, 1964, in Atlanta, Georgia, Ray was the son of Mildred Whisman Dickson. Ray proudly served his country in the United States Army. Ray was a graduate from Johnson Bible College, class of 1986. He had a profound faith in God and served as an Elder and Deacon at Central Christian Church. He also enjoyed working with the church youth group. Ray was a loving son, father, and grandfather who enjoyed spending time with his family, especially having family meals. He enjoyed playing video games, paintball, making people laugh, fishing, bow hunting, and eating at Cracker Barrel. He never met a stranger and his vibrant personality drew people to him. He was never one to shy away from a challenge or to try something new. Ray was best known for his servant's heart, helping anyone in need. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
In addition to his mother, Ray is survived by his children, Jacob Corey, Elizabeth Bungert (John), brother, Billy Corey, grandchild, Micah Corbin, nieces, nephews, and cousins, as well as the mother of his children and close friend, Debra Corey.
Pallbearers will be Jacob Corey, Jesse Smith, Brandan Leibenguth.
