Raymond Albert DelSontro Sr., 79, of Blairstown, passed away peacefully on May 5th. Ray was born on September 18, 1945, to the late Nicholas and Anna (Landolfi) DelSontro.
He graduated from Parsippany High School and went on to build a long and respected career as a union electrician with local 581. Ray was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing and feeding his birds. He was a devout Catholic and a 4th degree knight in the Knights of Colombus.
Ray was married to his late wife Janice (Endicott) DelSontro for over 40 years. They were high school sweethearts. God blessed Ray and Janice with twins, Raymond A. DelSontro, Jr., and Anna (DelSontro) Weiss.
Raymond is predeceased by his beloved wife Janice, dear son Raymond Jr., parents Nicholas and Anna, and siblings Eleanor, Dominick, and Rosa.
He is survived by his beloved daughter Anna and her husband Chris Weiss; his grandchildren, Deanna Lanterman (and husband Thom), Lynn Holyoak (and husband Derek), Krista Weiss, Renee Maynard (and husband Bryant), Gina DelSontro, and Nicholas DelSontro (and wife Kaycee). He also leaves behind a brother Nicholas DelSontro, and six beautiful great-grandchildren; Owen, Twyla, Raegan, Penny, Jackson and Bennett.
Raymond was the center of the entire DelSontro family and will be missed by all that knew and loved him.
Relatives and friends may visit on Tuesday, May 13, from 5-8PM at Newbaker Funeral Home, Blairstown, NJ. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Wednesday, May 14, at 10 AM at St. Mary's, Denville, NJ, interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover, NJ.
