Raymond Dubberly Obituary

Published by Legacy on Apr. 28, 2025.
Raymond Leroy Dubberly was born January 30, 1939 in Los Angeles, CA. to Wilford Fickling and Anna Johnson. He attended Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa, CA. He passed away peacefully at the Divine Providence Nursing home in Sleepy Eye on April 27, 2025.
Ray enlisted in the Army serving honorably in the Korean conflict and, after being wounded, was based in Germany for the remainder of his tour.
Ray married Deborah Dewanz on May 31, 1980 in Las Vegas Nevada at the Wee Kirk O' the Heather wedding chapel. The couple moved to New Ulm in 1984 where Ray began working for Puhlmann Lumber as their draftsman. Ray was a man of many talents. He had an auto repair shop, he could design a home or small business, or he could write a computer program. He loved wood-working and built furniture for the house. Later he decided the open road was for him and he drove semi's for many years with his last employer being Krohn Trucking in Nicollet. He loved to fish and the couple would spend every chance they could to be on the lake. Ray suffered a stroke June 6, 2020 while on the road which he was never able to recover from. Being house-bound he loved the company of his two adopted "kitty-kids" Buttons and Benny.
Ray has 3 children from a previous marriage, two sons Scott and Tedd and a daughter, Dana. He is survived by his wife, Deborah; sons, Scott and Tedd; and many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Dana; and sister, Teresa.
Ray was a private man and commensurate with his wishes, no funeral service is planned.
