Raymond Edward Hamilton, 81, of Fayetteville, passed away on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, surrounded by his family.

Raymond was born April 24, 1944, in Tonasket, Washington to Edward N. and Kathrine Kells Hamilton. He was a US Army Veteran and served in the Vietnam War. He worked for Nampac (National Packaging & Manufacturing Co.) in Toccoa, GA. He enjoyed dirt track racing, taking spontaneous trips with his wife, and spending time with his children and grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his parents; his sister, Joyce Marie Hamilton; brother, Leslie Hamilton; sister-in-law, Barbara Scott Brown; daughter-in-law, Kimberly Hamilton, and nephew, Jeff Chrisman.

Raymond is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Scott Hamilton; children, Kathy Hamilton Porterfield (Freddie Cheek), Joyce Hamilton (James Gilbert), Cindy Hamilton (Jimmy Rosell), Raymond Hamilton, Edward Hamilton (Sandra), Kerstyn Friedrich (Chris Boyens), and Dale Fulghum; grandchildren, Cole and Caroline Hamilton, Ray Fulghum, Nathan and Joseph Williams, Lacey Hamilton, Shellie Gooch, Makayla Pitts, Peyton Porterfield, Britton Cheek, Elaine Frady, Rayna Robinson, Ravaughn Fredrich,Dylan, Allye, Annabelle, and Anslye Hamilton; ten great grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Alice and Merlin Chrisman; and nieces, Polly Chrisman and Lesley Hamilton.

Service arrangements will be announced at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Second Harvest Food Bank of Southeast North Carolina.
