Raymond Vincent "Pompeo" Iarussi, 71, of Goshen, Ohio, passed away on June 12, 2024 in Cooper City, Florida.
Raymond was born in Ravenna, Ohio to Remo and Mary Iarussi on August 24, 1952. He graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Louisville, Ohio.
He married Joan Serri on May 24, 1975 in Canton, Ohio. He worked as a welder for Republic Steel and as a Certified Welding Educator for RG Drage Vocational Center and Stark State College of Technology. He was a Vietnam Era veteran and proudly served as an Airborne Ranger in the US Army.
He volunteered as a youth football coach at the Greentown Athletic Club for many years, was a Freemason, and was an active lifetime member at the Canton McKinley Rifle and Pistol Club.
Raymond is preceded in death by his mother and father Mary and Remo Iarussi, and older sister Marilynn (Iarussi) Barr.
Raymond is survived by his wife and lifetime love Joan, oldest son Tony and his wife Kim, his youngest son Adam and his wife Melanie, his loving sister Monica Kaley, and four grandchildren who were the lights of his life: Joey, Ryan, Evelyn and Avery. He will be missed by many friends and family who he loved and who loved him back.
In lieu of flowers, charitable donations may be made to a charity or cause of preference to honor Raymond's memory.
To honor Raymond's wishes there will be no visitation or services. Pomp always said "When I die, I want a party." His wishes will be honored, so the party of all parties will be held at a later date at the discretion of his family.
