Raymond Jesse Iseler was born on February 5, 1986, in San Antonio, Texas. His early years were spent having fun and being mischievous with his siblings, with whom he was very close. He resided and attended school in San Antonio until 8th grade. In 2000, at the age of 14, Ray and his siblings joined the Iseler family, and moved to Gaylord, Michigan. He then attended Gaylord High School, where his fun-loving nature attracted many friends. Many of those friendships remain to this day.
Even in such a large family, being one of sixteen siblings, Ray’s personality still stood out. He was caring, protective, patient, and had a sense humor that could lighten any situation. Family was deeply important to Ray, and he valued those he cared about. He understood when others were down and was always quick to give one of his big hugs to make them feel better. During family get-togethers, Ray was always willing to help where he was needed, whether it was entertaining the children or helping in the kitchen. He loved when family and friends were able to meet for a barbecue in the back yard, or gather around a bonfire, reminiscing and sharing lots of laughs. Ray’s witty (and often inappropriate!) comments under his breath will forever be missed.
Ray is survived by his parents, Ronald and Ann Iseler of Gaylord, his siblings Lisa (Kevin) Mathias of Johannesburg, Matt (Tim) Iseler of Wisconsin, Jason (Heidi) Iseler of Traverse City, Emily (Martel) Easter of Gaylord, John Gabriel Iseler of Tennessee, Victor Iseler of Gaylord, Ruben (Michelle) Martinez of Gaylord, Howard Iseler of Texas, Isidro Iseler of Cheboygan, Anthony Iseler of Gaylord, John Anthony (Michelle) Iseler of California, Adriana Iseler of Texas, Joe (Allyssa) Iseler of Kingsley, Felix (Alexia) Iseler of North Dakota, and Jose Iseler of Gaylord. He is also survived by twenty-one nieces and nineteen nephews, one great-niece, three great-nephews, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Ray is also survived by his children Julian, Ray, L.R., and LilyAnn, who he loved deeply and thought about often.
A memorial service will take place 11:00 AM Friday, October 17, 2025, at Peace Lutheran Church, where the family will visit with friends beginning at 10:00 AM.
