Raymond Johnson

Raymond Johnson, age 94, of Portland, passed away peacefully on November 21, 2025. Born in 1931 in Portland, Oregon, the youngest of three boys.
A graduate of Lincoln High School, Ray went on to serve his country by enlisting in the U.S. Army during the Korean War, spending two years in service. After returning home, he attended the University of Oregon, where he majored in music and was an active member of the Phi Delta fraternity.
Ray had a long career at BASCO, a local company where he later became co-owner. Altogether, he worked at the company for more than three decades.
Music was one of Ray's lifelong passions. A gifted pianist, he shared his talent throughout the community, performing at hotels, restaurants, and private gatherings for many years. His music brought joy to countless people and remained one of the great loves of his life.
Above all, Ray cherished his family. He is survived by his devoted wife, his two children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
