Well, family and friends, if you are hearing this, I've taken my final motorcycle ride into peace, surrounded by the love I carried with me every day of my life.
I was born in Carrollton, MI on May 28th, 1941, and I had the joy and privilege of spending my life with people who made every day worthwhile. For 63 years, I shared my heart with my best friend and wife, Henrietta Ann-the love of my life, my partner in everything I did, my Kiddo. Together, we built a beautiful life, one full of laughter, strength, and purpose. Our daughter Raeann was and always will be one of my greatest blessings.
My faith in Jesus Christ was the foundation of my life. I trusted in His promises, leaned on His strength through the trials, and rejoiced in His grace through the blessings. I did my best to walk in love, to forgive quickly, and live in a way that reflected His light. I know where I'm going, and I pray you'll find peace in knowing that I'm now home-fully healed and forever in His presence.
I spent my career as an educator and administrator for three school systems: Lincoln Consolidated, Coloma, and Carrollton Public Schools. I believed in education-in lifting the next generation, helping kids to see their potential, and always leading with integrity and compassion. After I stepped away from the education field, I found a new purpose working with Ninth Street Community Church, where my faith and service to others deepened.
Outside of work and Ninth Street, I had a few passions that made my life even richer. I was proud to ride with my brothers and sisters in Motorcycle Club #266-the wind on my face, the open road, and the bond we shared meant the world to me. I loved cooking and feeding people, whether it was a family dinner or a simple meal for someone in need. There was something sacred about a good meal and good company.
If I've learned anything in this life, it's that love is the most important legacy we leave behind. I hope that as a mature citizen, I gave more of it than I took, and that you remember me with a smile, a story, or a shared plate of food. I leave behind to cherish my memory my wife (Henrietta Ann), my daughter Raeann (Randall) Jones-Keller, four sisters-in-law Brenda (Richard) Dawkins, Kristie Jones, Cindy Jones, Lois (Norris) Scott-Kelley, and many cousins, nieces, and nephews. I was predeceased by my parents John Jones and Mary Jones-McFee, my brothers Hall and William, my sister Sylvia, and my beloved grandson Christian.
Ride on, live fully, and don't forget to love one another. Until we meet again
With all my heart,
Raymond Felix Jones
