Raymond E. Lafferty ObituaryNAUGATUCK - Raymond E. Lafferty, age 86, beloved husband of the late Eileen (Thomas) Lafferty, entered peaceful rest on Saturday, June 7, 2025 in the Cheshire House of Waterbury. Born in Beacon Falls on January 22, 1939, he was a son of the late George, Sr. and Anna (Sanford) Lafferty.
A proud US Army veteran, Ray worked for the CT Dept. of Transportation and retired as shop foreman. He loved working on cars, whether it be repairing or building from the ground up, as well as collecting coins and going to tag sales. He had a passion for baseball, especially the NY Yankees, and could always be found talking baseball with his brother and best friend, the late George "Sonny" Lafferty, Jr. They spent a lot of time together and even operated the Pines Bridge Cemetery in Beacon Falls. Family was most important to Ray and he especially enjoyed being around his grandchildren.
Survivors include his children, Raymond "Robbie" Lafferty of Naugatuck, Christopher M. Lafferty of Bethlehem, and Timothy G. Lafferty of Beacon Falls; cherished grandchildren, Christopher Anderson of Naugatuck, Mary Ellen Fama and her husband Thomas of Naugatuck, Benjamin Lafferty of Bethlehem and Grace Lafferty of Bethlehem. In addition to his loving wife, Eileen, and his parents, Ray was predeceased by his daughter, Julia A. Anderson; grandson, Sean T. Rosler; and his siblings, George "Sonny" Lafferty, Jr., Helen Gelmini, and Elizabeth Lafferty.
Relatives and friends are invited to greet the family on Thursday, June 12, 2025 from 4pm tp 7pm in the Ralph E. Hull Funeral Home, 161 W. Church St., Seymour, CT 06483. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, June 13, 2025 at 11am DIRECTLY in St. Michael's Church, 25 Maple Ave. Beacon Falls, CT 06403 and interment with full military honors will follow in Pines Bridge Cemetery, Beacon Falls.
