Raymond Mathis

Raymond Mathis, of Annville, KY, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at his residence, at the age of 91. He was born on June 2, 1934, to the late William David Mathis and Mable Partin Mathis.

Raymond was the beloved husband of Pauline Vaughn Mathis, with whom he shared a beautiful 72 years and they were blessed with three children: Dan Mathis (and wife Kaye) of McKee, Phyllis Nohl (and husband Earl) of Illinois, and Pat Jennings (and husband Randy) of South Carolina. He was a proud grandfather to nine grandchildren, twenty-four great-grandchildren, and twelve great-great-grandchildren. Raymond is also survived by his siblings: Michael Eugene of Illinois, Vernon of Lexington, Howard of Annville, Carolyn Bill of London, and Joyce Ann Henry (husband Danny) of Florida.

In addition to his parents, Raymond was preceded in death by his great-grandson, Nicholas Mathis, and siblings Lyndon, Bobby, Darrell, Larry Wayne Mathis, and Pauline Vaughn. Raymond was a devout member of the Annville Baptist Church, where he found solace and community throughout his life.

Raymond Mathis will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his dedication to his faith, and his warm presence in the lives of those who were fortunate enough to know him. His legacy of kindness and strength will continue to inspire all who were touched by his life. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

A funeral service to honor and celebrate Raymond's life will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, February 8, 2026 at Lakes Funeral Home where family and friends will gather to pay their respects and bid farewell to a cherished husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
