Raymond Curtis "Ray" Merrow

Raymond Curtis "Ray" Merrow, 97, of Palatka passed away Saturday, October 25, 2025, at Haven Hospice Roberts Care Center in Palatka.
Born in Folkston, Georgia, Ray served proudly as a Staff Sergeant in the 67th Fighter Bomber Squadron of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Following his military service, Ray worked as a pipefitter supervisor in the automobile manufacturing industry, retiring from the Chrysler plant in Twinsburg, Ohio in 1985 after which he relocated to Palatka.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #109 F.&A.M. of St. Mary's, GA for 75 years. In addition, he was a member of the American Legion in Palatka for 25 years, and the Florida Sheriff's Association for 16 years.
In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing, camping, and spending time outdoors. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and uncle.
Ray was preceded in death by his wives, Mary Ann (Wesdowski) Merrow and Anna (Shooks) Merrow; his parents, Thomas and Ollie Vera Merrow; brothers, Edgar, Everet, Cleveland, and Pete; and a sister, Marie Johnson.
Surviving are daughters and sons-in-law, Robin Callahan (Karl), Dawn Mustar (Dale), and Michele Popik (Andrew Jr.); grandchildren, Raymond Popik (Ann), Andrew Popik III, Jennifer Calo (Ryan), Rozlynn Callahan, Jacob Mustar (Gianina), and Thomas Popik (Khris); great-grandchildren, Jason Bueno, Avery Mustar, and Giovanni Mustar; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and good friends.
A private burial with military honors will be in Pineview Cemetery in Folkston, GA.
