He was born on December 15, 1935 in Sheboygan, WI, a son of the late Francis and Catherine (Slattery) Piper.
Ray attended St. John the Baptist Catholic Grade School and graduated from St. Norbert High School.
He served in the US Navy during the Cold War
Ray graduated from St. Norbert College to earn his Bachelor of Education and Master of Arts at Wroxton College, England and Fairleigh Dickenson University, New Jersey. He taught at Sheboygan Falls Schools for 30 Years.
He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth and the Plymouth Historical Society.
Survivors include his brothers, James (Kay) Piper and Donald Piper; sister-in-law, Trudy Piper; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Patrick and Daniel; and Sisters, Margaret "Peggy" Piper and Maureen Schmahl.
Private Graveside Services will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plymouth.

My deepest sympathy to the family of Raymond. He had a very kind and gentle soul. I knew him for a few years but those years made a huge impression on me. Games of cribbage, rides to visit Holy Hill and many travel stories to name a few. RIP Raymond, until we meet again. Sincerely, Suzie Stevens

He was a great teacher and a friend to all. He made classes fun. He had a great sense of humor and enjoyed life. He left his mark on the students he taught. He will be missed but not forgotten!
