Raymond Earl Quarles was born on October 13, 1955, in Houston, Texas to Irozolia Bosey and Samuell Shorter.
He received his education in the public schools of the Houston Independent School District, where he graduated form Evan E. Worthing High School.
In his earlier years, he was employed by Waukesha Pierce Industries before he pursued a career in carpentry having a passion for bowling, Raymond played in numerous tournaments and received several trophies. He also loved to draw.
Raymond attended Blueridge United Methodist Church at an early age with his mother and siblings later in his adult life, he joined Jones Memorial United Methodist Church.
Raymond Earl Shorter Quarles transitioned from this life on Thursday, October 10, 2024, at Memorial Hermann, Pearland, Texas.
He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Willie Bosey and Ruth Bosey, Arthur Shorter, Sr., and Beatrice Shorter, stepmother, Edna Shorter, stepfather, Elmo Quarles, aunt, Willie Ruth Glover, and cousins, Rosalyn Smith and Darlean Bennett.
He leaves tot cherish his memory; parents, Irozolia Quarles and Samuel Shorter; three sons, Samuel (Brittany), Raymond (Brittney), and Henry; grandchildren, Dymenz, Salomon, Braden, Maison, Keziah, A'Miyah, Briley, Noah, Nevayah, and Raelyn; siblings, Romalius, Karen, Eleanor Gail (Michael), Vicki (Willis), Terri (Terrance), aunts, Ophelia Quarles Smith, and Dorothy Gunnels, uncles, Teddy Bossey, Albert Bosey and a host of nieces nephews, cousins and friends.
