Raymond Joseph Vanover II (65), beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on October 31st, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Sr. and Norma Jean Vanover, and his brother Gregory Vanover.
Raymond is survived by his devoted wife, Phyllis, his children: Chad, Raymond III (Angela), Stephen (Brandie), Rachael Johnston (Shane), and Carly George (Cody). Raymond leaves behind his grandchildren: Chad II, Johnavin, Madison, Gavin, Raymond IV, Stephen II, Mariah, and Barrett. He also leaves his siblings: Stephanie Sallee (Mike), Michele Atria (Vinnie), Vincent (Judy), and Johnna Reece along with many nieces and nephews.
Raymond was particularly passionate about University of Louisville athletics. He loved cheering on his team and sharing that enthusiasm with family and friends. In his leisure time, he enjoyed fishing at the lake and golfing on Sundays with his friends. Raymond was also a proud supporter of Donald J. Trump.
A visitation will be held at Owen's Funeral Home located at 5317 Dixie Highway in Louisville, KY 40216 on Monday, November 4, 2024, from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM.
Raymond's kindness and spirit touched everyone who knew him. He will be remembered for his humor and expert dance moves. He will be deeply missed, but his memory will live on in the hearts of those he loved.
