Reba Lail Poteat Obituary
Reba Lail Poteat, age 86, of Forest City, passed away Saturday, March 8, 2025 at Henderson Care.
Reba was born Monday, November 28, 1938 in Gaston County, NC to the late Frank Lail and Rosa Mae Rogers Lail. She worked as a cook at the Walker Super Chef Restaurant for fifteen years and was a dedicated homemaker. She also loved cooking for special occasions and preparing meals for her family. Reba was a member of Goodes Grove Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of twenty-five years, David Poteat; sons, Eddie Tipton, James Tipton, Robbie Tipton; daughter, Kathy Diane Tipton; brothers, William, Jerry and Frankie Lail and sisters, Jean Kelly and Lucille Moore.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons, Wayne Tipton (Patricia) of Ellenboro, Scott Tipton of Rutherfordton and Jimmy Tipton (Teresa) of Forest City; sister, Rachel Whisnant of Henrietta; sixteen grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be conducted at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, March 12th at Goodes Grove Baptist Church with Reverend Robby Hensley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will gather at her son’s house at 271 Phillips Drive, Forest City, NC 28043.
