Reba “Suzy” Lavernne Stewart, a woman whose strength, tenderness, and unwavering devotion shaped the lives of all who loved her, passed away peacefully on November 16th, 2025, in Arlington, Texas. She was 60 years old.
Born on April 23rd, 1965, in East Prairie, Missouri, Reba was the beloved daughter of Richard Archie and Linda Pope. In 1986, she made Texas her home—a place where she would build a life filled with love, resilience, and family. It was there that she met and later married the love of her life, William David Stewart. The two were united in marriage on November 20th, 1998, and together they shared 34 beautiful years before David’s passing earlier this year on January 10th, 2025. Their bond was one built on deep affection, laughter, and steadfast loyalty—one that continued to guide Reba even in his absence.
Reba leaves behind a legacy rooted in love. She is survived by her stepchildren: Jon Stewart (Allison), Mendi Stroud (Jim), Elizabeth Price (Jake), Matthew Stewart (Jacklyn), and Garrett Stewart (Candace). She cherished her 9 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren with all her heart. She is also survived by her loyal four-legged companion, Duke, who rarely left her side.
Reba strength was quiet but immeasurable. During her courageous battle with cancer, she carried herself with grace and determination, never revealing the depth of the pain she endured. Instead, she offered comfort, steadiness, and hope to those around her.
Though her absence leaves a void that can never be filled, Reba’s legacy lives on in the family she guided, the lessons she taught, and the love she so freely gave. Her spirit will forever echo in the laughter of her grandchildren, the stories shared around the table, and the quiet moments when her family feels her love wrap around them once more.
The family finds peace knowing that Reba is now reunited with her beloved David, the two of them together again in eternal rest. May her beautiful soul continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who loved her.
