Rebecca England Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Sebrell Funeral Home on Apr. 11, 2024.
Mississippi- Rebecca "Becky" England, 74, died peacefully at home, surrounded by her family,
on Monday, April 8, 2024. She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Lesley "Les" England;
her two daughters: Lindsey England and Kelli (Derek) Howard; her 3 favorite grandchildren:
Nolan, Beau and Rivers; and her sister, Bonny Sarver.
Becky was born in Beaumont, Texas to Otis Lockard and Linda Collett in March of 1950. During
her lifetime, she attended school at Lamar University, and thereafter began working for Gulf
States Utilities in southeast Texas where she met her husband, Lesley. The two were married
in 1979 and in the years to come, the couple welcomed two daughters. The family relocated to
Zachary, Louisiana before settling in Madison, Mississippi in 1994, where they have since
remained.
Becky was passionate about animals-whether she was feeding the hummingbirds or bringing
home a stray rescue to care for-she had a heart for all creatures. She loved to garden, cook,
and cheer for the Dallas Cowboys. Her husband remembers the unwavering love and support
she had for him. Her children remember her gregarious personality and huge heart when it
came to her grandchildren. Whether she was showing up for her grandson's first day of school,
or cheering from the sidelines at youth soccer games, "Maw" was a dedicated wife, mother, and
grandmother.
"If I had to choose my mother's greatest achievement, I would have to say that it was choosing
to be a mother. My sister and I are so fortunate to have had the opportunities we did to become
the talented, successful women we are because of our mother's decision to become a mom."
A visitation is scheduled for Friday, April 12, 2024, from 3:00p to 7:00p at Les and Becky's
home, 124 Camden Trail, in Lake Caroline. All are welcome to come and celebrate. In lieu of
flowers, the family asks to please consider making a donation to your local animal shelter in her
honor.
Condolences can be sent to: [email protected], [email protected], or
[email protected].
The family wants to thank the compassionate caregivers who helped us transition Maw from this
life to the next.
