Rebecca Estes N. CHARLESTON - Rebecca Mackie Estes July 1, 1940 - October 13, 2025 Rebecca Mackie Estes, 85, of North Charleston, South Carolina, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2025. Born in Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan, she was the daughter of Edward Valentine Mackie and Eva Brown Mackie. In 1959, Rebecca moved to Chesapeake, Virginia with her husband, Fredric Lester, her spouse of 25 years and father of her four children. She later shared 12 devoted years with Chandler Estes. Both preceded her in death. An artist, gardener, and devoted mother, Rebecca shared her creativity, compassion, and love of nature with everyone she met. She is survived by her sister, Patricia Wessling; children Arlene Carlson (Mark), Annette Miller, Douglas Lester (Anita), and Craig Lester; and nine grandchildren. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at Riverbluff Church, 5421 Riverbluff Parkway, North Charleston, SC.
