Rebecca Ann Flahart

Rebecca (Becky) Flahart was born January 31, 1962 in Erie, PA to Edward A. Rutkowski and Cecilia (Czulewicz) Rutkowski who raised her with lifelong values of faith, family, and Polish heritage.
After graduating high school at Mercyhurst Prep in Erie, Becky went on to attend Penn State University, earning a degree in Operations Management. She inherited the hard-working and loyal nature of her parents, working as a manager at Kraft Foods and then at Binney & Smith / Crayola for over 25 years. Her greatest job and life achievement, however, was being a mother.
Becky had great passions for her family, health, nutrition, and homeopathic medicine. Not a day would go by where she didn't live life to the fullest. Whether she was bumming around at a farmer's market, trying to find the best vanilla soft-serve in the Lehigh Valley with her daughter, exploring Washington, DC with her son, or simply taking a walk around the neighborhood, she brought so much life to the people around her. She always lived in the moment, teaching by example in her integrity, faith, laughter, curiosity, and love.
Becky leaves behind JR (Larry) Flahart, to whom she was married for over 35 years, her son Ian Flahart of Manassas, VA, her daughter Hannah Flahart of Bethlehem, PA, her sister Mary Jo Rutkowski and Bill Holter of Erie, PA, and her sister Carol Cornman and Brent Sperry of Vienna, VA.
She was preceded in death by her brothers Edward S. Rutkowski and Mark Rutkowski.
A service will be held on Tuesday, 10/28 at 10:30am at Notre Dame Church in Bethlehem, PA, with calling hours at 9:30am preceding the mass. In Becky's honor, contributions to the New Bethany Ministries and/or Monocacy Farms Project will be welcomed.
