Rebecca K. Hesser, 70, of Belle Center, passed away at 11:56 p.m. on Monday, September 1, 2025, at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. She was born in Bellefontaine, Ohio on January 10, 1955, to the late Forest E. Houchin and Linda L. (Burns) Acheson.
On September 14, 1973, in Bellefontaine, she married Phillip J. Hesser, and he preceded her in death on September 29, 2024.
Rebecca is survived by her children, Shawn Hesser of Belle Center, Holly (John) Baughman of East Liberty, and Melissa (Justin Van Buskirk) Hesser of Bellefontaine; grandchildren, Ethan Williams, Gavin Van Buskirk, Diesel Baughman, and Maelee Van Buskirk; great grandchild, Avery Williams; sister, Mary Detrick; nieces and nephews, Jesse (Angie) Detrick, Rachel Mentzer, Tiffany Detrick, Jenny Newland, Chuck Hesser, and Billie Mizek; special neighbor friends, Jody, Jodi, and Ashley; and her beloved dog, Bella.
Along with her parents, and husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Earl Allen Houchin.
Rebecca was passionate about horses and once owned two of her own. She and Phillip enjoyed concerts together, and Rebecca had a love for haunted houses, scary movies, craft shows, flea markets, and garage sales. She loved watching her son Shawn race quads and never missed her grandchildren’s sporting events. Her interest in racing also took her to several racetracks. Always active, Rebecca liked driving her golf cart around with her dog Bella by her side. When her children were growing up, their home became a favorite spot for neighborhood kids to play. Rebecca will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
Pastor Bryan Meadows will officiate a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 5, 2025, at the Eichholtz & Daring Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 306 N. Elizabeth Street, Belle Center. Visitation will be Thursday, September 4, 2025, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Belle Center.
