Rebecca Dolores Jones (Rapp) was born December 5, 1953, the second oldest of 4 girls, to Philip and Dorothy Rapp of Mt. Victory, OH. Known as Becky to her friends and family, she had an idyllic country childhood, surrounded by her sisters and cousins as constant companions. Becky graduated from Ridgemont High School in 1972, after which she became the warm smile and kind face to greet patients, clients and customers at various offices and front desks throughout her time in the workplace.
In 1975 Becky met her future husband, and lifelong sparring partner, Mark Jones, at a party hosted by a fellow martial arts student. As it was so aptly described in Mark's obituary, "Within months, a photo of the new couple appeared in the newspaper, both in karate gis, Mark with mutton chops and what would become a legendary mustache and Becky with a long braid and a kerchief tied in her hair (it was the 70s after all). Mark demonstrated a block while Becky attempted a high kick to the head. This accurately represented their power dynamic for the rest of their devoted and loving 47 year-long marriage."
The couple went on to have two daughters, Jessimi and Eliza. Who, although, deeply regret losing both of their parents too young and too close together are also forever grateful for the unwavering love, support and constant security their parents provided them throughout their lives. They were fixtures at every event their girls took part in and were their biggest fans and avid supporters in all they did. Becky made legendary fried chicken, mashed potatoes and apple dumplings, often cooking large meals for her daughters and their friends. Squeezing one more hungry teen or twenty-something around Becky's kitchen table was never a problem. She relished in their laughter and silliness. That love naturally overflowed to her grandchildren, Piper, Sam and Dahlia. Although her time with them was cut too short, they will remember her as giving the best cuddles and always happy to listen to whatever story they wanted to share, no matter how silly or hard it might be to follow.
Almost a year ago, Becky learned that she had cancer and from the beginning she was determined to live her remaining time on her own terms. Her final weeks were spent at Wooded Glen in Springfield, OH where they took wonderful care of her and she was able to be close to family. She spent her final days surrounded by her sisters and daughters. Jessimi and Eliza were with her for her final breaths, taken on Wednesday February 4, 2026.
Becky is survived by her two daughters: Jessimi (Graham Davis) Jones of Springfield, and Eliza (Steven Cotton) Jones of the Isle of Wight, England; 3 grandchildren: Piper Cotton, Samuel Cotton, and Dahlia Davis; two sisters Bernadette (Stewart) Coats and Katherine (Rob) Temple of Hardin County, OH; sisters-in-law Maggie Robinson (Dennis Black) of North Carolina and Kit Jones of New Knoxville; close family friend Anita Mouser; and many much-loved nieces and nephews. Becky was preceded in death by her husband Mark Jones; her parents Philip and Dorothy (Wenner) Rapp; a sister and brother-in-law Christine and Kevin Stahler; and brother-in-law Dallas Jones.
