Rebecca “Becky” Allen Martin,  of Greenville, SC, formerly of Lee County, died Tuesday, March 26, 2024. 

Her funeral service will be 11:00 AM Saturday, March 30, 2024 at Covenant Presbyterian Church with interment in Parrott City Cemetery.  

Rebecca Flora Alan Martin was born reared lived and died in the Presbyterian Church. She was the daughter of the Reverend Samuel Allen and Mildred Allen. She was the second of six girls and one boy. She is survived by two sisters Esther Peterson and Mary Bohn (Lowell) she was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Betty Tyler, Dorothy Williams, and Evelyn Allen as well as her one brother George Allen. 

She was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Henry Walter Martin, her daughter, Sharon Annette Martin, and one grandson, James Henry Martin, Junior. 

She is survived by her five sons; James Henry Martin (Deborah) John David Martin (Brooke), Allen Douglas Martin, George Andrew Martin and William Walter Martin (Laura), as well as one granddaughter, Hannah Martin, and two grandsons, Timothy Martin and Samuel Martin and one grand daughter Ashley Winge Melton. She is survived by three great grandsons, James Jett Martin, Dax Creager Martin and Bentley Hall Melton with one more great grandson to come. 

Becky was a well respected Bible scholar and sang in any church choir she was able to join. Mom loved to sing and listen to Christian music. She also loved to travel whenever it was possible. She and her husband went on a mission trip to Mississippi after hurricane Katrina and also to Washington DC. She went on an epic road trip to Alaska with her sons, Henry and David. She also went on another trip to the Grand Canyon with her sons, David, Doug, and Andy. 

She wrote three books: A Promise Kept about the life of her father, the Last Decade about the last years of her late husband and Reba’s Travels about some of her travels.
