Rebecca L. Watnes, 45, beloved daughter, cherished by all who knew her, left this world too soon, on November 27th, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Rebecca was born February 19th, 1980, in Indianapolis to parents Linda and John Watnes Jr. She grew up in Indianapolis and graduated from Warren Central high school.

A very hard worker, Rebecca worked at Kroger for over 12 years, a job at which she excelled and enjoyed. She loved being around people and customers often chose the lane Rebecca was working, just to see her.

Rebecca was a loving, vibrant woman. She was a passionate reader, finishing book after book. Rebecca loved music, and she was a huge fan of Snoopy from Peanuts. Rebecca’s sweet personality left her mark on everyone she knew.

She is survived by her mother Linda Watnes, her sister Jennifer Myers (John Myers), nephews Alex Myers, Isaac Myers, nieces Hallie Myers, Mackenzie Myers, uncle Ted Davis, and several extended nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her father John Watnes Jr.; maternal grandparents Walter and Coful Davis; paternal grandparents John and Dorothy Watnes; aunts and uncles Ophelia (Hopper) Davis, Pauline (Stapert) Davis, Charles Davis, Emmette Davis, Paul Davis, Norma (Anderson) Davis, Keith Davis, and Eugene Davis.

Visitation for Rebecca will be Monday December 8th 2025, Indianapolis first church of the Nazarene, from 12-1pm. Her funeral will begin at 1pm. She will be laid to rest at Washington Park East Cemetery.
