Our beloved Rebecca Ann Starr Young entered into this life on October 11, 1970 and departed on September 18, 2025 in Cottonwood, AZ.

Rebecca spent her life never meeting a stranger and loving all who came into her life. She found great joy in acting, singing and dancing on stage and off. Her independent nature and desire to do all that she could, meant she led a full life. Whether it was playing soft ball and bowling, riding the mechanical bull at the rodeo, traveling with her mother and friends to exotic places, or simply being part of her family, circle of friends and the community, she enjoyed it all. She never stopped moving or learning, she was not one to be idle.

Rebecca was preceded in death by her father Eugene Young, mother Penny Spillman, brother Robert Young, brother-in-law David Brown Jr. and two nephews. She is survived by her brothers Dan (Maureen) Young, Mark (Deborah) Young, Raymond Young, Andrew Young; her sisters Sharon Thompson, Christine (Tom) Gapinsky, Lidora Daymude (Dewayne); sisters-in-law DeShannan Young, Dawn Martinez; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 9:00 am on Saturday, September 27th at the Westcott Funeral Home, 1013 E Mingus Avenue, Cottonwood, followed by the funeral services at 10:00 am. Interment will take place at Cottonwood Cemetery, after which all are welcome to come to the Maui Hall at Y.E.S. the Arc for the reception.

Friends are invited to honor Rebecca in any way meaningful to them; those who wish may make contributions to Y.E.S. The Arc’s Performing Arts program (yesthearc.org or PO Box 1061, Cottonwood, AZ 86326) where her Starr light shined the brightest.
