Red Lane

Met Red on a vacation trip with my mom and dad in the summer of 1969. His brother who lived here in Houston told me to call him and he would show me a recording studio. He showed me Tree Publishing and the RCA studios. We spent two days with him and his wife, Penny in Nashville and out on Old Hickory Lake on his boat. His exposing me to the industry lead me to where I am today. It gave me the desire and confidence to open the door to Andrus Productions in Houston and meet Walter Andrus and Rock Romano with whom I am friends with to this day.
It may have been a short acquaintance but it made a big difference in my life.

Enjoyed many nights playing music with you Red, before you moved to Nashville. You realized your dream, and made a great contribution to country music, just like you said you would, all those years ago. Glad to call you my friend. May you rest in peace now.

Sincere Condolences to those who knew and cared about Red. He was such a unique and talented man. I called him friend. Glad we saw each other at R.O.P.E Banquet a few years back. God Bless You. RIP

two good school buddys are now together....my hubby-bob darnell and holis were best buddies and have been for years...talked to RED back in 02 when i let him know bob had died. any of the family want to call 1-269-695-1827. last we seen him he was building his airplane home.....god bless
