Lieutenant Redwin Mendez age 52, was tragically lost in a motorcycle accident October 30, 2022. Red was born June 1, 1970 in Santo Domingo. He married, Elena Fallon, the love of his life on August 4, 1996. They were blessed with two beautiful children, Brandon and Alexa. Redwin was a Lieutenant with the FDNY in the training section at Emergency Medical Dispatch in the Bronx. Redwin started working at FDNY in 1999. He was recognized by EMS week in 2021 by the New York City Fire Department. In his career, he saved thousands of lives.
Redwin impacted many people not only in his career, but in his personal life. His smile, kindness and sense of humor will always be remembered, as will his love for his family. He was passionate about riding and being a member of the Latin America Motorcycle Association, Empire State L.A.M.A. He did everything but teach those who loved him, how to live without him.
Redwin is survived by his beloved wife Elena, his children Brandon, Alexa and Redwin Jr., his parents Fernelis Mendez and Zoila Perez, his sister Yira Mendez, niece Alondra, nephew Eduardo and godchildren Jeremy and Alex Medina. He is also survived by countless friends that had great love and respect for him. He will be forever missed.
The family will receive friends at the WESTCHESTER FUNERAL HOME, INC. EASTCHESTER Friday, November 4, 2022, 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm & 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm. Mass, Saturday November 5, 2022 at 11:00 am at Asbury Methodist Church, Tuckahoe.
