Regina (GiGi) M. Zymantas, born on March 28,1951 in Germany, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on June 4, 2025, with her loving family by her side, leaving behind a rich collection of memories and a legacy that will forever resonate in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her. Regina was a remarkable soul.

Regina dedicated much of her career to the field of information technology, contributing her talents to various institutions, including Northwestern Hospital. Her intellect and expertise were an asset that took her far.

Beyond her professional accomplishments, Regina was defined by her nurturing spirit and endless generosity. A kind-hearted individual, she found joy in giving to others, enriching the lives of family and friends with her unwavering support. Her warmth extended into the cherished moments spent during family celebrations, where she was often the last person to leave, a testament to her love for connection and family.

Regina’s fondness for joyous gatherings and family celebrations was abundantly evident as she always selected the perfect Christmas ornament or unique Easter basket. Regina had a deep love for all animals and over the years, she opened her heart and home to countless dogs and cats in need.

Regina was a fierce competitor in her youth as a volleyball and softball player. Her spirit of competition didn't dim with age, as she often loved watching the Chicago Bears and Chicago White Sox. It was a particularly good day when the Bears triumphed over the Packers!

Regina found delight in board games which always included sharing laughter, jokes and teasing with family. Each game was a reminder of her competitive and fun nature. As we gather to celebrate the life of Regina M. Zymantas, we remember her not just for her accomplishments but for the incredible person she was—an embodiment of kindness, a beacon of generosity, and a lover of life. Her memory will forever live on in the hearts of those whose lives she touched, a lasting legacy of love, joy, and unmatched spirit.
