Regina A. Melerine was born on October 17, 1960 and passed away on November 27, 2025. She was a beloved Daughter, Sister, Aunt and a friend of too many to count.
Regina was preceded in death by her father, Carrol “Lutchie” Melerine, and her mother, Judith "Judy” Melerine.
She is survived by her brother, Randy (Donna) Melerine, and her nieces and nephew: Mandy (Dwayne) Sylvera, Colby (Mikayla) Melerine, and Candace (Matt) Lomasney. She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews: Hannah Sylvera, DJ Sylvera, Lincoln Melerine, Luna Melerine, and Declan Lomasney.
If you knew Regina, you knew she was fiercely loyal to her family and friends. Once you were part of her inner circle, she was always there to defend you. Her kindness, generosity, and loyalty were beyond gold. She enjoyed a party, laughing, and helping wherever she could.
Regina was a dedicated and hard worker, often holding down three jobs.
She began her legal career working for Manny Fernandez Law Firm in Chalmette and then spent over 30 years at Weigand & Levenson with Lenny Levenson. Regina loved working in the legal world and enjoyed helping family and friends with legal advice.
For over 30 years, she worked a second job at Patton’s Caterers and loved every minute of it, especially bringing joy and laughter to everyone's special day. She enjoyed working alongside Hannah and DJ at Patton’s. She also worked at Katz for 10 years as a bartender, serving many of her friends.
Her famous words were: OH MY GOD!
Relatives and friends are welcome to attend a memorial mass at, Our Lady of Prompt Succor Catholic Church, 2320 Paris Road, Chalmette, LA 70043, on December 12, 2025. Visitation from 10 am to 11 am with the family followed by an 11 am Catholic Mass.
