Regina Wallace Obituary

Published by Legacy on Feb. 16, 2026.
Regina Lee Wallace, of Virginia Beach (formerly of Orlean, VA), passed peacefully at home surrounded by family on February 10, 2026.

She was born August 31, 1942 in Sibley Memorial Hospital in DC. Working for the government for decades, she retired to Virginia Beach in 1997. Regina was a friend to every neighbor, spending time on the porch talking and keeping an eye out with the Neighborhood Watch, making room for so many folks to stop and chat, particularly her best friend Cindy Stinard and her husband Fred. In the summers, she was a fixture on the beach, enjoying the surf and the sun. She attended Francis Asbury UMC, appreciating time in fellowship with her church family and pastor. Always up for a laugh and a good time, Regina was the life of the party, ready to share in a joke or a great story, and was a superb beer pong player!

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jim Wallace, her parents, Richard and Maud Hawkins, and her sister, Doris "Rocky" Ellis.

She leaves behind her son, Gary Wallace and his wife Carole, her daughter Debi Carroll and her husband Charlie, her grandsons Chad and Hunter Carroll, her granddaughter-in-law, Andrea Candea-Carroll, her great-granddaughter, Amelia Maeve Candea-Carroll, her niece, Sharon Radford, and Akira, her crazy bird who loves to alert everyone to the doggies who walk by and singing "Red Solo Cup, let's party".

A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at Francis Asbury United Methodist Church. Regina will be laid to rest at 11am on Saturday, February 28, 2026 in Hillcrest Memory Gardens, Jeffersonton, VA. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Judes.
