Your wonderful sense of humor will be forever missed. To Carole, I'm so sorry for your loss. I will be forever grateful for the special 76 minutes you invited me to share with Reggie mid-June before he went to meet his Lord and Saviour
God bless you Carole, and all of Reggie's children: Jerry, David, Cindy and Rikki and especially Reggie's beloved only sister - Tomena Ford, and her hubby Larry and their family in Canada

Reggie was a very special friend for many before he met Carole. He accomplished so very much with his life I met Reggie in Florida right as he was becoming an American citizen around 1997 and he was so very proud of that accomplishment since he was born in saskatachawan, Canada. When I told him I admired his intelligence, he would joke about not having much formal education but he is one of the MOST intelligent men I have ever known. He would make fun by saying if I thought he was intelligent, I was in serious-trouble. Reggie's constant sense of humor was to be admired. If he could make someone smile or laugh, his day was complete. I knew he had to be a highly intelligent man to start his young life as pilot of the F86 in the Royal Canadian Air Force. Of course he made me laugh with stories of how they kept the beer COLD (the way he liked it best) inside the F86 and how they flew so low over the corn fields, they would have corn tassels hanging from the bottom of the F86. I do believe becoming a USA Citizen was one of his most proud accomplishments of Reggie's life besides his 4 beloved children and grandchildren. I'm guessing Reg was likely one of THE best check airmen that AA ever had then OR since. Reggie had a built in work ethic where he HAD to do the very BEST at whatever he took on in life and I'm sure that was evident to all of you that flew with him. He started at age 11 against his parents wishes by selling newspapers on Toronto street corners I think of the previous pilot that talked about Reggie's special talent to "figure people out quickly" that he was flying with. Oh the stories and oh-so-many-awesome-great times and laughs I will NEVER forget. The funniest I can remember is trying to off-load bags of trash in Dallas. Flight attendant said Captain, they are refusing to allow us to leave trash here. He ordered her to open the door. With that, Captain Heard heaved 10 bags of trash onto Dallas Tarmac; He said next visit went smoother

Hi Carol,
First of all let me extend my deepest sympathies for your lost of Reggie.
I have to tell you that I owe so much to Reggie in a professional way. I was selected to be a check airman on the A300 in 1990. As part of the check out I had to have a senior check airman show me the ropes as they say. I learned so much from him during the process. Not so much about the technical end as we were all super qualified on the airplane, but how to work with people. He was a master at that and I did my best to emulate him. In recent years I have seen a lot of fellow aviators of my generation pass on but I was really disheartened to see the new about Reggie.
We now spend our Winter months down In Islamorada in the Keys. If you ever take a trip town that way , Donna and I would be delighted to meet you and you are more than welcome to spend some time at our condo.
