Death Notice

Reginald Todd Jones

1963 - 2023

Reginald Todd Jones heard the voice of the Lord calling his name to come home on Saturday, September 30, 2023. "Reggie", as he was affectionately known by family and friends, was one of a kind, and he knew and understood himself, and what was happening in his life.
Reggie was born April 18, 1963, and was the son of Sarah Willie (Love) and James Jones, Sr. He was a 1981 graduate of Bridgeton High School, and also attended Cumberland County College for several years. Reggie worked as a Union Worker most of his life, and was employed with the International Bricklayers and Allied Craftworkers Union as a stone mason and the Local #77 Laborers' Union as a laborer later in life. In his spare time, he enjoyed sports, jazz music, travel and good food.
In 1995, Reggie fell ill and was diagnosed with heart failure. He was hospitalized for about a year awaiting a new heart. On his thirty-third birthday, he was looking forward to get some fresh air outside. Instead, Reggie found out that he would receive the gift of a new heart on April 18, 1996. In addition to new physical life, he received a new spiritual life in 2006. Reggie gave his life to the Lord on September 8, 2006. He actively served the Lord with all his heart and he did not hold back when it came time to share his faith.
Reggie became a member of Bethel A.M.E. Church in Millville, New Jersey in 2006 under the pastorate of Charles E. Wilkins, Sr. He spent the rest of his life walking closely with his Savior, and strong in faith. He was a generous giver as well as one who avidly traveled to visit other sick and shut in, despite his own health challenges. Reggie enjoyed his church family and remained a faithful member until he entered the hospital on September 4, 2023. He was especially fond of his pastor, Reverend Zina Thompkins, for her preaching ministry and the many home and hospital visits.
He was preceded in death by: his parents, Sarah and James Jones; brothers, James, Jr. and Robert Jones.
Reggie leaves to cherish his fond memories: his brother, Cris Jones (Thomasina) of Vineland; 90-year-old aunt, Carrie Mae Brown of Vineland; special friend, Gloria Ragbir and children, Candice, David, Kristy and Angelica, all of Philadelphia; special friend, Reverend Cassandra Renee White of Millville; special cousins, Garrick Everson of Baltimore and Kimberly E. Goldsboro of Vineland; and a host of cousins, other family members and friends.
