Regis Thomas Blahut

Regis Thomas Blahut, 87, of Williamsport, MD and formerly of Silver Spring, MD, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2025, at his home.

He was born December 18, 1937 in Pittsburgh, PA, to the late Paul Thomas Blahut and Catherine Elizabeth (Hornyak) Blahut.

He was a 1955 graduate of Connelly Vocational Technical High School in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was predeceased by his wife first wife, Kathleen Anne (Adley) Blahut on November 12, 2016 and his second wife, Ruby Pearl (Barnes) Nee Blahut on March 6, 2025. One sister, Catherine Vogt; two brothers: Bernard Blahut and Paul Blahut; one son-in-law, Joseph G. McGinnity; one granddaughter, Molly K. McGinnity.

Regis was employed by the Washington D.C. Fire Department as a firefighter until his retirement. He was also a lifelong carpenter by trade.

He served in the United States Army.

He was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, Hagerstown, MD.

Regis was a member of the Potomac Fish and Game Club, Williamsport, MD; Life member of Knights of Columbus, Father Rosensteel Council, Silver Spring, MD.; Conococheague Tribe #84 I.O.R.M., Williamsport, MD; Potomac Post 202 American Legion, Williamsport, MD; Retired Professional Firefighters Association, Washington D.C.

He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing.

Regis is survived by three children: Beth A. McGinnity of North Potomac, MD; Regis T. Blahut, Jr. (Kim) of Adamstown, MD; and Stephen P. Blahut (Eileen) of Frederick, MD. One sister, Patricia A. Ault of Bethel Park, PA. His loving grandchildren: Brendan McGinnity (Anna), Kevin McGinnity (Leah), Nicole Miller (Jamie), Regis Blahut (Gina), Sean Blahut, Kelly Blahut. Two great grandchildren, Rori and Beckett.

A Memorial Mass will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, at 10:00 am, at St. Ann Catholic Church, 1525 Oak Hill Avenue, Hagerstown, MD with Rev. Monsignor J. Bruce Jarboe celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the mass from 9:00-10:00 am.
