Regner Irmtraud Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Frazer Cremations & Funerals - South Lyon on Nov. 10, 2025.
In Loving Memory of Irmtraud Regner September 6, 1935 – November 2, 2025 It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Irmtraud Regner, age 90, on November 4, 2025. Irmtraud was born on September 6, 1935, in Heidelberg, Germany. She was the only daughter among five children, cherished sister to her older brothers Armand and Karlheinz, and her younger twin brothers, Harry and Wolfgang. She was married for 68 years to the love of her life, Franz Regner. Though both were born and raised in Germany, they each immigrated to the United States, where they met, fell in love, and built a beautiful life and family together. Irmtraud is survived by her children Franz Regner Jr. and his wife Judy, Doris Petersmark and her husband Dan; her grandchildren Kyle Petersmark and his wife Sarah who gave her two beautiful great grandchildren Quinn and Wiley. Ryan Petersmark, Sean Petersmark and his fiancé Sarah Hughes. Erich Regner and his children Erich Regner Jr., and Ariel Regner. She is also survived by her brother Harry, and by many dear friends whom she loved deeply and considered her extended family. Known affectionately as Oma, Irmtraud was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She will be remembered for her creativity, elegance, and her impeccable sense of style. For 45 years, she worked with dedication and grace at Hudson's, Marshall Field's, and Macy's, where customers fondly referred to her as "the German lady." Irmtraud was a woman of strength, kindness, and steadfast determination. She had a gift for listening with a remarkable memory for the details of others' lives, and she had a heart that somehow always found room for more love. Irmtraud was unwaveringly devoted to her family and found joy in supporting and encouraging those she loved. Her strength, compassion for others, and Irmtraud's grace were truly one of a kind. We take comfort in knowing she is reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Franz, and all those who went before her We will honor her life with a Memorial Celebration of Life at St. Johns Resort in Plymouth Mi. on Sunday December 7 th, from 12:00 to 3:00 pm.
