From the short amount of time I knew Reid, he was always laughing, and he was genuinely such a light to those around him. We had one class together freshman year of high school, he sat behind me, and we would get in trouble for cracking jokes in the middle of lecture. Sure, maybe we should´ve paid more attention, but the impact it had on me, having a friend that was older than me who had every right to turn his nose up at me as a young freshman, made a huge difference. I´m very grateful for that ephemeral friendship we had.

The whole way towards, and away from your funeral I thought about words to say. I didn't have them then, and I'm not sure I have them now. I didn't get to know Reid as an adult, but from everything I heard, he was an amazing person. All of the crazy stories I have of my childhood involved Reid in some way, whether it was him ejecting me from the golf cart and skidding through the gravel drive, getting ran over by him and Coy in the go-cart, or getting stuck in the corn field we weren't supposed to drive in, it always involved Reid. We never got to beat Frogger on Jo Jo's computer, and I don't think I could now that you are gone. All this to say, many of my memories as a kid had Reid in them, and when I reminisce now, they'll be a shade of blue, but I think that's okay. I heard that your favorite color was blue.
