This is such a sad news! I am so sorry to hear this sad news. May God grant her highest place in paradise and give patients to her family and friends she left behind.
She was indeed a very loving and sweet person.

Renate was a member of our Cary memoir writing group for the past several years, where we were entertained with fascinating stories of her childhood in Germany, before and during the second World War.

Despite physical challenges, she had an energy for her passions, one of which was gardening. She donated many plants from her property to my fundraising MS Charity Plant Sale which occurs each spring. The Lenten Rose are blooming even now in the pots, lined up out on the potting table waiting for the sale. Thank you, Renate! You will be missed.

Condolences to Renate's family.

Renate was always a good friend to me. I have fond memories of the two of us eating a wonderful meal she had cooked and spending quiet evenings sorting through stamps. She was a very wise woman. I will miss her advice, among everything else. My condolences to her family.

Renate helped me improve my German language skills for more than the past decade. She had tremendous energy and drive, and she was always ready to lend a hand and help those in need. We will miss you, Frau Renate.

Renate was a devoted volunteer for the League of Women Voters' annual book sale for many years. Her garage was often overflowing with books. She was fun to work with and was always willing to speak German with my son who was a German student in school. My condolences to her family.

I'm a member of the Raleigh Stamp Club and Renate was always kind, generous and very knowledgeable about stamps. She provided great insight into stamps and did a wonderful presentation on Kayaking through postage stamps because I think that is what one of her daughters was into. I will really miss her at the club meetings.
