Renato was born on May 10, 1959 in Lumang Lipa, Mataas na Kahoy, Batangas, Philippines. He was a loving son to Elias Acar and Pilar Tenorio. He was a loving sibling to Yolly Evangelista, Anacita Jaro, Rolando Acar, Linda Dongon, Pepito Acar, Ben Acar, Ceasar Acar, Divina Garcia, and Ronillo Acar. He grew up next to Taal Lake where his fondest memories include swimming and fishing. He spent his teenage years in Manila City, where his fondest memories include taking care of the sari-sari store.
Renato met his wife, Loreta, in 1986 near the sari-sari store. Renato and Loreta got married in 1990. Renato was a loving husband to Loreta, and they called each other "Darling". They had five children – Jervis Paul, Sheila Mae, Sheryl, Paul John, and Benedict. Renato left his home country and family for Chicago, Illinois in 1994 to provide a better life for his family. He spent the next nine years working and saving. Renato worked as machine handler at Follett Corporation for 22 years where he met some of his dear friends. In his free time, Renato enjoyed cooking, gardening, fixing things around the house, and watching basketball, football, National Geographic, Animal Planet, and YouTube vlogs (fishing, farming, cooking).
In 2003, he brought his wife and children to the United States. He devoted his life to taking care of his family. He prepared coffee every morning, drove them to school or work, and performed countless acts of service. Some of his last words were "I love my wife and kids. I love my family." His love was unconditional and will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held Wednesday June 5th from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM and Thursday June 6th 9:00 AM to 9:30 AM at TOHLE FUNERAL HOME 4325 W. Lawrence Ave. Chicago, IL followed by a Funeral Mass Thursday June 6th, 10:00 AM at St. Edward Church 4350 W. Sunnyside Ave. Chicago, IL.
