Rene Elaine Bonnichsen, born on May 24, 1958, in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Edgar Augustus and Eula Mae (Welch) Gideon, passed away peacefully on October 14, 2025, in Owasso, Oklahoma. Throughout her life, Rene embodied compassion and commitment, leaving a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Rene dedicated 30 years of her career to the Jenks Public Schools as a Para in Special Education, where she worked diligently to support and uplift children with diverse needs. Her work was a reflection of her unwavering passion for education and her deep love for her students. She found incredible joy and fulfillment in being a guiding force in lives, a testament to her caring nature.

Growing up in Owasso, Rene received her education there and graduated in 1975. Her roots in the community shaped her values and instilled in her a sense of responsibility to contribute positively to the lives of others. In every role she took on, whether professional or personal, her nurturing spirit shone through.

Rene had a vibrant personality, characterized by her love for music and her cherished pets. Family was central to her being, and she relished the time spent with loved ones, always creating an inclusive and warm environment for all. Her affection extended beyond family; she considered each of her Special Education children as part of her broader family, demonstrating her exceptional ability to connect with others.

She is survived by her devoted sister, Cindy Lovelace and her husband Mike; her brother, Billy Gideon; her goddaughter, Candace Foster and husband Travis; along with several nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends who will remember her for her kindness, dedication, and the joy she brought into their lives.

Rene was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Christopher Bonnichsen, and her parents, Edgar and Eula Gideon. Their memories will forever remain in the hearts of those she left behind, as they reflect the love and compassion Rene shared so freely throughout her life.
