August 4, 1931 - December 15, 2025
Sacramento, California - Passed away peacefully on December 15, 2025, at age 94. He was born in Havana, Cuba, raised in Guangzhou, China for most of his childhood and adolescence, and returned to Cuba when he was 18. He married his wife, Margarita, in 1959, and they immigrated to America and remained in Sacramento since 1962. For over 30 years, he worked for Host Marriott International, Corp., and was fluent in three languages. Rene preceded his wife in death (2006) and is survived by his three sons, John, Daniel, and Michael, and his grandchildren, Joseph, Jacob, and Sarah. He is remembered as a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Friends are welcome for visitation on Thursday, January 8, from 3:00-7:00 p.m. and funeral service on Friday, January 9, at 10:00 a.m., both at SACRAMENTO MEMORIAL LAWN, 6100 Stockton Blvd., Sacramento, CA 95824.

There are often no words adequate to say to grieving hearts when we lost someone we love. We pray you will find comfort in knowing Uncle Rene left behind a strong legacy, and peace in sharing with each other family memories. We carry fond memories in our hearts the many visits and meals at his home over the years and were the blessed recipients of his hospitality and generosity.
We regret we will not be able to attend the viewing and funeral service. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all today and in the days ahead.
