Renee Elizabeth (Peterson)Childs, 95 of Little Egg Harbor, NJ passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday November 9th, 2025. Renee was born in St. Paul, MN. She moved with her family at the age of 8 to Panama where she eventually attended Balboa High School and met her husband, "Chuck". Being a military wife, she lived in several places including Maine, and Minnesota before moving to New Jersey where she lived in Toms River and then Maplewood before moving to the Little Egg Harbor area in 1990. Renee worked as a nurse and home health aide and was a member of the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Little Egg Harbor. She enjoyed playing bingo, going shopping, visiting Atlantic City to play the slots, watching game shows, soap operas, lifetime movies, donating to the ASPCA, and rooting for the NY Yankees! Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, who she cherished dearly. Renee was beyond excited to be a "Triple G" (Great- great-grandma). She was the team mascot for her daughter's pool league. As a breast cancer survivor, she participated for several years in the Relay For Life.
Renee was predeceased by her parents Harold J. Peterson and Clara E. (Mallory) Peterson, Husband Harold Redding Childs Sr. "Chuck", son Harold Redding Childs Jr. "Chuckie", son James Michael Childs, daughter Elizabeth Mary Childs, grandson Thomas Mallory Childs, brother Harold Robert Peterson and brother Donald Mallory Peterson.
She is survived by her loving son Joseph Allen Childs and wife Karen of Fall Branch, TN, grandchildren Charline Childs (Aaron), John Childs (Kimberlee), Michele Vogel (Robert) and Adam Childs (Christine), great-grandchildren Anthony Paci, jr., David Childs (Daysia), Karlee Childs (Travis), Austin Childs, Jordan Childs, (Priscilla Paci) great-great-grandchildren Savannah Paci, Weston Paci, Colton Paci, Lillibeth Childs, Niece Nancy Peterson, and nephew Johnny Peterson.
Cremation will be private and a memorial gathering will take place at a later date. Please check back for details.
