Fagel, Renee Sue (nee McSweeny), 66, was born into eternal life on Sunday March 10, 2024 surrounded by her family at St. Elizabeth Inpatient Hospice. She was born July 21, 1957 in Oelwein, Iowa to John and June McSweeny, and she was the third of six children. She grew up in Marion, Iowa and earned an Associate Degree in respiratory therapy at Kirkwood Community College. She was working at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics when she met her husband, Dr Daniel G Fagel. They were married April 30, 1988 and relocated to Crescent Springs, KY in June 1991. She happily gave up her career to be a full-time mom and raise their three sons, Patrick, John and Brian. She loved cooking, gardening, sewing, traveling and hiking but her passion was for her faith, her family and her community. She converted to Catholicism in 1987 and her life was changed after her Cursillo weekend in 1995. She was active at St Joseph Crescent Springs and was involved in several prayer groups. She was devoted to her sons and then grandchildren and made every birthday, Christmas, and Thanksgiving special. She had a wide circle of friends and was always concerned about their physical and spiritual needs. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter Aliyah Fagel. She is survived by her husband, Dan, three sons Patrick (Brianna), John (Anesha), Brian and grandchildren James, Paul, Alia, Aveer Fagel; brothers Rick, John (Kim), Pat (Anna), Greg (Jennifer) McSweeny and sister Michele McSweeny as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
