Renee Gaines Obituary

RENEE ESTELLE GAINES
February 15, 1936 ˜ October 31, 2024

Our beloved Renee Estelle Gaines, 88, joined the Lord on Oct. 31, 2024, following her long and beautiful life. She was born in Brooklyn, NY, on Feb. 15, 1936, to parents, Calvin and Estelle Pearson.

Renee moved to Vancouver as a young girl and married her husband, Jerry Gaines, in 1955, shortly after he served in the Navy. Together, they had two beautiful children, Robert W. Gaines in 1956 and Cynthia R. Gaines in 1958. Renee happily spent her life as a homemaker and loved baking, sewing, shopping, and decorating for the holidays. She led an active social life, including her bowling league, bunco, and the Vancouver Women’s Social Club. Renee had many friends and will be remembered for her gentle, giving, and vivacious spirit. She was a woman of faith and cherished reading her Bible and sharing her favorite verses.

Renee is survived by her brother, Thomas Pearson; daughter, Cyndi Gaines; grandchildren, Diane (James) Shishido and William (Bridget) Lane; great-grandkids, Alexa and Anna Shishido; and her dog, Maxx. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Jerry; son, Robert; and siblings, Calvin and Jean Pearson.

Renee’s Celebration of Life will be at 1 p.m., Friday, Nov. 29, at Minnehaha Grange, 4905 NE St. Johns Rd. in Vancouver. Her final resting place will be alongside her husband, Jerry, at Willamette National Cemetery.
