In Loving Memory of Renee Marie Junga
July 26, 1961 – February 14, 2023
Renee Marie Junga, age 61 of Macomb, passed away on February 14, 2023 surrounded by the love of her family.
Renee was born on July 26, 1961, to Russ and Shirley. She was a loving daughter and the proud older sister of Colleen and Kevin who she fiercely protected. In 1985, she married the love of her life Michael Junga and together they built a beautiful life. They would celebrate 37 years of marriage and raise two children, Ashley, and Kyle. Later in life she would become overjoyed to become a grandma to Elijah and Finn. In 2018, after 38 years of service, Renee retired from AT&T.
Renee was the ultimate Mom who traveled across the state, and then some, to support her kids at every basketball, softball, and hockey game. Her pride for her family never went unnoticed as she made sure to celebrate every minor and major milestone – often with a tray of her famous brownies in hand! Her and Mike enjoyed going to Tiger's games, the occasional long drive, and a great dinner out. But nothing in life gave her more joy than her two grandsons. She attended every baseball and soccer game she could, played hundreds of rounds of Candyland with them and showered them with love every chance she had.
Renee will be remembered as a loyal and caring person, who loved her family unconditionally. She is cherished by all those that knew her and will be forever missed.
Beloved wife of Michael Junga; loving mother of Ashley Junga and Kyle (Miranda) Junga. Proud grandma of Elijah and Finn Junga. Renee is also survived by her siblings Colleen Costanza and Kevin (Tammy) Taverner, step-sisters Virginia Harris and Debbie Hench, sisters-in-law Deborah Horn (Dennis) and Cindy (Steve) Sweesy, brothers-in-law Scott (Vickie) Junga and Bob (Cindy) Ebenhoeh, and her niece and nephews (Melissa, Kody, Austen, Erica, Jennifer, Ryan, Craig, Chad, Jaclyn, Kaitlyn, Brett, Brad, Brandon and Alissa).
Joined in Heaven by her parents Shirley Taverner and Russ Costanza, her in-laws Ralph and Ellen Junga, and her niece, Brooke Taverner.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 19 from 2:00-8:00 PM at Lee-Ellena Funeral Home46530 Romeo Plank Rd., Macomb, MI 48044.
