Renee N. Leger, 82, of New Bedford, Massachusetts, passed away on Thursday, November 20, 2025 after a life filled with passion, purpose, and heartfelt connection. Born and raised in New Bedford, Renee remained deeply rooted in her hometown throughout her life, though she also spent many cherished years in California, where her adventurous spirit led her to new opportunities and friendships.

Renee was predeceased by her parents, Joseph Arthur and Florence (Breault) Leger; her beloved brother, Joseph Arthur Leger Jr.; and her dearest sister, M. Elise (Leger) Fatula.

Renee's professional journey began at Union/Parkwood Hospital, where she served as Food Service Director. Her career took a remarkable turn when, inspired by a travel magazine ad boldly proclaiming, "come live and work in paradise," she embraced adventure and joined Seacrest Village in California on November 7, 1991.

Starting as Director of Food Services, Renee's talent, leadership, and unmistakable spark quickly became evident. Over the years, she rose through the ranks, becoming Director of Support Services, overseeing maintenance, housekeeping, and dietary operations. Around 2000, she was promoted to Director of Operations, and later to Vice President of Operations - a role that perfectly suited her natural ability to organize, inspire, and, as she often joked, "boss people around."

For 22 years, Renee devoted herself to Seacrest Village, retiring on November 7, 2013. She left behind a legacy of loyalty, kindness, and deep care for the residents she cherished. Known for singing when the mood struck, dancing when no one expected it, and ensuring things got done with both heart and laughter, Renee's presence was unforgettable.

In retirement, Renee returned to New Bedford, where she devoted herself to her family. She was very close with her brother and sister and their families, always keeping loved ones together - a priority she held dear. Renee is survived by her sister-in-law Dolores Leger; nieces Sandra Leger-Silva, Brenda Francis, Laura Mendes, Cathy Leger, and Julie Couto; nephews Dale, David, and Michael Fatula, and Robert Leger; their spouses; several great-nieces and nephews; and her many friends who she loved and adored. She also leaves behind lifelong family friends Raymond and Jane Yates, whose bond with Renee was a treasured part of her life.

Renee loved her family, her co-workers, concerts, and dining out. She was often found, as she liked to say, "just sitting around looking attractive." Her warmth, humor, and joy touched everyone fortunate enough to know her, and her memory will live on in the laughter and love she inspired.
