Reta "Elaine" Addis

Reta “Elaine” Addis, 94, of Orion, IL, passed away December 26, 2025, at Silver Glen Senior Living in St. Charles, IL.

Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, January 4, 2026, at Western Township Cemetery, Orion. Following the service, refreshments will be served at the Orion United Methodist Church. Esterdahl Mortuary and Crematory, Ltd., Orion are assisting the family. Memorials may be made to a local animal shelter.

Elaine was born on May 30, 1931, in Woodhull, IL, the daughter of Elmer and Edith (White) Jordan. She married Irwin “Bill” Addis in Woodhull, on June 6, 1954; he preceded her in death in 2011. Elaine was a member of the Orion United Methodist Church. She moved to Orion in 1954 and later received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Western Illinois University. Elaine was a member of the Alpha Sigma Tau Sorority. She worked as a business teacher at Orion High School for 33 years until she retired. Elaine liked to read, play bingo, make crafts, and color. She was always smiling and making jokes with those around her.

Survivors include her daughter-in-law Roberta Addis, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Kirk Addis, and sister Beverly Jordan.
