Reta Carter Obituary
Gladys “Reta” Dudley Carter age 84 of Wirtz passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the local hospital. She was born on December 23, 1940, a daughter of the late Hedrick and Gladys Dudley. She was also preceded in death by a son, David Lynn Carter; grandson, Brian Lee Worrell; brother, Norwood Dudley; nephew, Matthew Dudley; and very special friends, Mark and Jenny Early.
Left to cherish her memory are, her husband of 67 years, Cameron H Carter; Children: Debra Carter Kanode (David), James Cameron Carter (Cynthia), Pamela Carter Foster (Jeff), Michael Ronald Carter (Monica), Wendi Carter Morgan; Brothers, Haywood Dudley (Arlene), Richard Dudley (Susie); Grandchildren: Jessica, Brandee, Jana, JC, Benjamin, Samantha, Shelby, Cameron, Jacob, Ryan, Rory, Breanna; 8 great-children. She is also survived by the whole Carter Family of Virgil and Eliza (Sis) Carter, Wilson, Roger, Milton, Bettie, and Donna; Special Close Friends, Ted (Bonnie) Gregorief, Norm (Melanie Allen), Bruce (Sue) Twiddy and long-time friend Nancy Gravely Weaver
Special Thanks to April Camp, Kendrick Wright, Brenda Harrison, and Maretta Huff at Runk and Pratt, and to Dr. Scarlatescu, Dr. Amo-Mensah, Greg Forest, Kerri, Taylor, Cory, Katie, Karen, Daisy, Olivia, Phyllis, and all the nursing staff in the acute care unit at Franklin Memorial Hospital for their amazingly wonderful care!
Cam and Reta were baptized together in 1964 and have both been faithful servants of Jehovah God ever since!
Funeral services will be conducted 11 AM Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Officiating the service will be Norm Allen and Paul Houston. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 at the funeral home.
