It is with a heavy yet grateful heart that we announce the passing of Retha "Lynn" Davis, affectionately known by her grandkids as "Hunny," at the age of 63 on February 26, 2025. Lynn was born on May 26, 1961, in Crockett, Texas, to Richard and Dorothy (Musselwhite) Dorman. A lifelong resident of Leon County, she touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness.

Lynn attended school in Centerville and Oakwood and proudly graduated from Buffalo High School. She furthered her education by earning an Associate's Degree in Business from Trinity Valley Community College. In 2012, she became a dedicated co-pastor with her husband, Chuck, at Celebration Church in Buffalo, where she had also served as secretary for many years. Lynn's unwavering commitment to her faith and her community inspired countless individuals, making her a mother figure to many young women who sought her guidance.

On July 11, 1980, Lynn married her beloved high school sweetheart, Chuck Davis, who stood by her side throughout their beautiful life together. Even in her final days, Lynn's spirit remained unyielded.

Her gift for conversation made her an easy friend to all, and her ability to listen so deeply meant that countless people found solace in her presence. Lynn's immeasurable love and affection for her family, especially her grandchildren, brought immense joy to her life.

Lynn was preceded in death by both of her parents. She is survived by her devoted husband, Chuck Davis of Buffalo, Texas; daughters, Lauren Van Hooser and husband, Chris, of Jewett, Texas and Jami Story and husband, Michael, of Buffalo, Texas; brother, Richard "Buddy" Dorman and wife, Bea, of Buffalo, Texas; and adored grandchildren, Jase, Zachary, and Addison. Lynn is also survived by numerous extended family members, as well as a loving community who will forever hold her memory in their hearts.

A memorial service honoring Lynn's life will be held 10 A.M., Friday, February 28, 2025, at Celebration Church in Buffalo, where Lynn poured her heart and soul into her ministry. All who knew and loved her are invited to gather in celebration of her life, sharing stories and memories that reflect the warmth and light she brought to so many.  Lynn's husband, Chuck, will officiate the service.
