Rev. Carl W. Martin, age 69 of Caryville passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023. Rev. Martin was an Ordained Minister, a faithful member of The House of Prayer and Praise, and enjoyed fellowshipping with other area churches. He enjoyed playing music, woodworking, building, cooking, and loved to be with his family. Preceded in death by Parents, Albert and Evelyn Storie Martin, Father-in-law and Mother-in-law, Glenn and Mary Ellen Franklin, Grandparents, Albert and Margaret Martin, and Cleopha and Elma Storie, Brother, Charles Martin, Sister, Cindy Ellis, and 2 infant children.
Survivors: Wife of 38 years, Karen Franklin Martin; Brothers, Tony Martin and Wife, Sue, and Craig Martin and Wife, Leisha; Brothers-in-law, Rev. Mike Franklin and Wife, Sharon, and Rev. Bobby Franklin and Wife, Pat; Sisters-in-law, Rachel Jones and Husband, Wayne, and Sharon Ruth Shepherd and Husband, Darrell; Nieces and Nephews, Mikey Franklin (Shanna), Audie Ellis (Betsy), Amanda Terry (Chris), Crystal Gibson, Holly Luers, Cassandra Rich, Aaron West (Fiancé, Halie Collins) Amber Moore (Travis), Makayla Peller (Zack), Melissa Bertram (Travis), Nick Spoljoric; Numerous Great-Nieces, Great-Nephews, other family members and friends.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 4:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Walters Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 29, 12:00 P.M. at The House of Prayer and Praise (691 Pleasant Ridge Rd., LaFollette, TN 37766) with Rev. Mike Franklin, Rev. Bobby Franklin, Rev. Gene Johns, and Rev. Jerry Foster officiating. Interment to follow at Powell Valley Cemetery. Walters Funeral Home of LaFollette is honored to be serving the family of Rev. Carl. W. Martin.
