Dallas – Rev. James Matthew Alexander, 63, went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on February 14, 2023 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
He was born in Whitewright, Texas on May 24, 1959 to the late M. H. Alexander and Lola Samples Alexander. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles Grant and David Alexander; and his sisters, Kathleen Alexander and Kay Alexander.
James was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He loved to preach the Word of God and tell people about the Good News of Jesus Christ while serving many Assembly of God churches and other communities in the area. He was a people person who liked to take care of others. James never met a stranger.
He is survived by his son, Matthew Alexander of Charlotte; daughter, Cara Alexander of Asheville; brother, Paul Grant (Betty) of Texas; sisters, Laverne Nelson (Gerald) of Mississippi, Edith Brown (Jerry) of Dallas, NC, and Shirlene Wornhor (Pete) of Texas.
The family will receive friends at Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home on Sunday February 19, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. – 3:00 p.m. with a Memorial Service to be held at 3:00 p.m. in the Withers and Whisenant Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Lewis Gunn, Jr. officiating.
